L V Muralikrishna Reddy
Dr. L V Muralikrishna Reddy, FIE, Int. PE, CEng (UK) (born 23 June 1967) is the youngest President of India's oldest professional body of engineers, (The Institution of Engineers (India) ) and has assumed office at the Annual General Meeting held at Hyderabad on 21 December 2014. He is a technologist and researcher with focus on promoting interdisciplinary research to deliver solutions, services, and products for societal needs.His professional experience spans over 24 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Energy Systems, and a Ph.D in Energy Conservation and Management. His areas of expertise and current interests include Chemical Engineering, Engineering Education and Accreditation, Energy Systems, Collaborative Research, Institution Building, Micro Air Vehicles, Skill Development, Sustainability Platforms, and Technologies for Societal Needs.
He has been associated with IEI-KSC, as Secretary and Chairman for (Karnataka State Centre );〔http://www.ieiksc.org The Institution of Engineers (India) Karnataka State Centre〕 and has served in several Committees of IEI. His significant contribution includes articulating, proposing, and implementing transformation of IEI’s flagship activities: Education, Examination, Accreditation and AMIE programs; Promoting Networking and Collaboration through multiple editions of the flagship Indian Engineering Congress / Conventions / Seminars / Events; Scaling-up Membership Growth; and Strengthening the effectiveness of IEI Platforms by enlisting wider participation by Members and Institutions.
Murali had served as the Director of NDRF, a Research Promotion Organisation.〔http://www.ndrf.res.in/about-us.html Official website of National Design and Research Forum, Bangalore〕 Under his leadership, NDRF has built a high-performance collaborative R&D ecosystem with its Consortium partners to develop indigenous capabilities in Micro Air Vehicles, Rapid Prototyping, and Chemical and Bio-Sensor Systems. He has published International/National Papers and Reports, edited 6 Monographs on critical areas of engineering, and has 9 international patent disclosures.
He is a recipient of fellowships from The Institution of Engineers (India), The Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK). He was conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. He holds multiple leadership positions at national and regional levels of professional bodies and associations, including Member-Executive Board of MICAVs (funded by the Aeronautical Research and Development Board, Department of Defence Research and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India), amongst others. He serves as the Vice President of the (Indian Institution of Production Engineers (IIPE) ).〔http://www.iipeonline.org/html/NHQ.html〕 He has promoted networking in the technological community by establishing synergy with other professional bodies to strengthen the cause of Indian engineering.
